The Jonkunoo & Masquerade Project with Annet Richards-Binns illustrates the rich history, cultural significance, and contemporary relevance of Jonkunoo - a festive celebration rooted in West African heritage, brought to the Caribbean by enslaved Africans, and now a vibrant cultural tradition celebrated in Jamaica, the Bahamas, and other Caribbean islands.
It takes place at the Picturedrome on Barton Street on Friday 5th July from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
