Mobile networks are being improved in the local area, which is great news as it provides improved speed, performance and coverage for mobile phones. However, there is a small chance that these upgrades may cause interference with TV services received through an aerial, such as Freeview, BT, TalkTalk and YouView. Cable and satellite services will not be affected.
Restore TV is an organisation owned by UK mobile operators to ensure that all UK TV viewers continue to receive free-to-view channels, or are offered a suitable alternative, if mobile signals cause TV interference.
Restore TV will check whether the issue is due to a nearby mobile mast being upgraded. If it is, they will provide free appropriate support, such as supplying a free Restore TV filter to block mobile signals and enable you to continue receiving and watching free-to-view TV as normal. If you live in a flat or communal building, they can provide you with free filters and work with your landlord or property manager to resolve the problem.
If you are experiencing new TV interference such as poor sound, a blocky picture, or a ‘no signal’ message, please contact Restore TV for free on 0808 13 13 800, or via their website https://restoretv.uk/
